Homemade baby food

As a mom of three, I know first-hand how exciting and intimidating it can be to make homemade baby food. And with a busy schedule and all the other kids in the house, it’s really hard to find the time to do it. Switch to level 1 pureed baby food that may seem impossible.

Tip: I use a standard blender for all of these recipes. So there is no need to buy a baby food maker separately.

Formula for 6, 7 and 8 month olds

10 Easy Homemade Baby Food Ideas

These homemade baby food ideas are for little ones who eat thin purees, but of course they can be used by older kids and kids alike, no problem!

Tip: Add some Greek yogurt, coconut cream or mashed avocado if you want to add more fat or protein to your fruit and vegetable puree.

The best way to make baby food

The simplest and easiest way to prepare baby food is to use a blender with fresh ingredients and a little water as needed. You can buy a device that won’t use breast milk or formula for long periods of time. It can be cooked easily.

Tip: Start with at least 1 cup of base ingredients to make sure you have enough in the blender.

Essential tools for making baby food

To make these baby food recipes you will need:

  • Mixer (you can use a powerful hand mixer)
  • Dilute with water, powdered milk or breast milk as needed.
  • knife used to cut products
  • spoon
  • cheers
  • Ice tray
  • Freezer bags for storage
  • A baby food storage box

Quick baby food

These baby foods are meant to be eaten quickly. Because they are very thin, they fit easily into the baby’s mouth. Personally, I love adding some texture to the mesh for kids. So I’m not too worried about the difference 😉

Second level of infant food

The food of these babies is slightly thick. Sometimes there are several species. And most babies with different ingredients will be ready for this type of puree in about 7-8 months, or as soon as they thicken. So I was too nervous to glance at the calendar to see when it would be recommended.)

Tip: I love Amara Organic Baby Food (paid referral link) as a backup to homemade baby food.

  1. Mashed avocado

To make avocado puree for your child, you need fresh avocado if you want to use it later, a blender and lemon juice. Sometimes just a fork does this while the avocado is still very soft! It’s a great way to introduce a diet low in allergens and high in good fats.

  1. Pea puree

A toddler’s diet doesn’t have to be a monochromatic diet. You can make this easy bean paste with chickpeas, kidney beans, black beans or even white beans. Dilute with water, powdered milk or breast milk as needed. Add some sweet potatoes or squash for an amazing mash.

  1. Raspberry puree

Made with fresh or frozen blueberries and packed with fresh flavor and antioxidants, this blueberry puree is delicious on its own or paired with whole milk yogurt or baby oatmeal. (If you keep it in the fridge, it will be thicker. Shake the bottle before eating)

  1. Kiwi puree

This fresh puree is perfect for kids who love it. And it’s fun to make and save later. To prepare the puree, you should choose very firm and sweet kiwifruit to ensure that they are not too sour for a good taste. (If you like it sour, you can mix it with banana or apple juice.)

  1. Mango paste

Use fresh or frozen mango puree in seconds with this baby mix. It’s light, delicious, and a source of immune-boosting vitamins. Taste and notice the mango is sweet and not too sour. (If it’s sour, you can add apple juice or ripe bananas.)

  1. Crushed peaches

Turn thawed fresh or frozen peach slices into ultra-smooth Level 1 baby food with this easy blender recipe. You want to stretch the skin because it’s hard to blend. Even with a powerful blender. But it’s easy to do! This baby food recipe is a great alternative to applesauce.

  1. Beat the peanut butter

you might not think so but whipped butter is a great baby food! This is the perfect way to introduce your child to peanut butter and serve it there safely. Simply heat the unsweetened peanut butter cream until it becomes a curdled consistency. Soft, non-greasy and full of protein.

  1. Pineapple puree

Add fresh or frozen pineapple chunks to the smooth tropical baby food puree. It’s delicious on its own or with full fat Greek yogurt. Taste if the pineapple is not too sour. (If it’s sour, you can add apple juice or ripe bananas.)

  1. Strawberry puree

Fresh strawberries blend into a smooth homemade puree that requires no additional liquid. It can be served as is or mixed with applesauce if desired. The flavor of the berries determines the flavor of the puree. So don’t forget to taste the sweetness.

  1. Mash the bananas

Ripe kale is a good baby food to make in a blender at home. It’s a simple, easily digestible homemade baby food. Level 1 Baby Food uses ripe bananas with brown flecks to give your baby a sweet, easily digestible puree.

Stock up on homemade baby food

The easiest way to store homemade baby food is to freeze fresh purees in ice cube trays. When frozen Once frozen, remove the cubes and store in a freezer bag for up to 3 months. It’s the perfect way to deliver homemade baby food to the sitter or to keep you busy for the week ahead.
