BMI introduction

BMI is a measure of overweight or obesity based on height and weight. And when muscle strength is measured, it is often used as a general indicator of whether a person’s weight is appropriate for their height. Specifically, the BMI value is used to classify a person as overweight, normal weight, overweight or obese, depending on where the value is found. This BMI range varies by region, age and other factors. It can be divided into different healthy categories, such as overweight and obesity. Being overweight or obese can have serious health consequences, so BMI is not an absolute measure of a healthy weight. But it is a good indicator that you need further testing or treatment. Risks associated with being overweight

Obesity increases the risk of various diseases. Among the major health concerns, as in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), is a list of identified risks;

  • High blood pressure
  • Many people think that high levels of bad cholesterol are “bad cholesterol,” saturated cholesterol, which is often considered good cholesterol and triglycerides.
  • Type 2 diabetes
  • Heart disease
  • stroke
  • Urinary tract infection
  • Rheumatoid arthritis is a type of arthritis caused by the destruction of cartilage.
  • Sleep therapy and sleep apnea
  • Certain types of cancer (cervical cancer, breast cancer, colon cancer, kidney cancer, colon cancer, liver cancer);
  • Poor living conditions
  • mental illness such as depression and anxiety
  • Pain and difficulty in doing certain things.
  • In general, people with a healthy BMI have an increased risk of dying.

 

As you can see from the list above. Being overweight has many effects. In some cases it can be life-threatening, but it’s best to check with your doctor if you need to make any lifestyle changes to stay healthy.

Risks associated with being underweight

The most common risks are listed below.

  • Vitamin deficiency anemia (loss of weight capacity)
  • Osteoporosis is a condition in which bones become weaker, increasing the risk of fractures
  • inhibition of the immune system
  • growth and developmental problems, especially in children and adolescents
  • Hormonal disorders that disrupt menstruation can cause infertility in women. Women who are underweight can also get pregnant quickly.
  • Potential problems of work
  • In general, people with a healthy BMI have a higher risk of dying.

In some cases, obesity may be a symptom of an underlying medical condition, such as anorexia. It has its risks if you think you or someone you know is underweight, see a doctor, especially if you don’t know the cause of the damage.
